This piece is stunningly modern, and almost hard to believe it's from the 1950s! While she has that classic pencil skirt wiggle dress design and the gorgeous feminine tailoring of the period, the utilitarian details like large functional pockets at the high hip, crisp structured collar, and many (faux) button design remind us of modern designers like Comme des Garcons. The sexy curve hugging fit balances out the utilitarian inspired design elements to create a truly unique and super flattering look. Union label, well made, circa late 1950s.
